The last 3 TV show topics, I've never really seen. I've seen one or two episodes of Futurama and the only thing I really remember is HYPNOTOAD hypnotizing everyone to choose him for first place. I did this one completely in Illustrator.

Old School Video Games by Troy Hoover
Soda Popinski is getting ready for round 2, and he's pissed! I loved Punch Out as a kid, and still love it to this day. Still some of the best video game music ever produced, the fight song gets stuck in my head all the time. I've been trying to force myself to put more black into my drawings instead of leaving the line work completely open like I usually do. I like inks with lots of solid black areas, but I don't ink that way myself, really frustrating.

Arnold Schwarzenegger by Troy Hoover
The Running Man. Had some fun with this one. I wanted to draw Richard Dawson in there somewhere cause he's a pimp, but I didn't want to crowd the layout any more, it's already got 6 people in there. If I get a little more time I'm going to render the colors more, right now it's mostly flats. No time today since it's the 4th AND Amy's birthday.

Breaking Bad by Troy Hoover
I've never seen the show so the only things I know about it are the guy from Malcom in the Middle(Mooneyham's favorite show) is in it and that Gavin Smith loves the shit out of it.

Literature by Troy Hoover
I chose to draw the character Louis Toadvine from the book "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy. He's an outlaw in the early to mid 1800's west. Pretty grimey. He has the letters H and T(stands for "Horse Thief") branded in his forehead as a punishment earned earlier in his life. He's described as having an F branded between his eyebrows also, but it's never explained what that stands for. The book is amazing by the way. It's brutal and unforgiving, but so well written.

Green by Troy Hoover
I always imagined Greedo as a sick gunslinger before his life was cut short by Han Solo. Rushed this one a little. Lots goin on with the restaurant opening this week.

Aliens by Troy Hoover
One of the first things I think of when I hear the word "Aliens" is one of my favorite albums of all time, "ATLiens" by Outkast. 1996, still their best album in my opinion. The CD booklet was actually a short comic book featuring Andre and Big Boi as aliens. I decided to draw them as they appeared around the time of the album release. Dre was wearin that head wrap thing all the time that made him look like The Great Tiger from Mike Tyson's Punchout, and Big Boi still had his corn rows. Listen to "Two Dope Boyz(in a Cadillac)" while listening to this, it'll make it that much better. Hoping to color it soon.

Toy Story with a spaghetti western twist. I got through 90% of the coloring before realizing I forgot Woody's red bandana. Whoops.

Mad Men by Troy Hoover
Sorry for the spoilers guys but this is how the Mad Men series ends. They end up bickering and ice fishing. Never seen the show so I had a hard time coming up with this weeks sketch, plus my physical work job gets crazy around this time of year so this weeks is a little looser than my usual style.

Assassins by Troy Hoover
Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite game franchises so naturally it was the first thing I thought of for this topic. There are rumors going around that the next Assassin's Creed game will have the historical part of it set during the American Revolution so I went with that for this weeks illustration. Crow quill, brush, and ink for this one.

Sean Connery by Troy Hoover
Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez! Not my favorite Connery character by any means but I just saw Highlander again recently and decided to go with this. Went with rough pencils and quick digital colors to try a different style.

Frank Frazetta by Troy Hoover
Everyone loves Death Dealer! How about a Native American Death Dealer? I really wanted to take this topic as an opportunity to mess around with digital painting again. Still seems to be something I can't totally grasp. I think it's the blending technique that gets me, can't really find a way to make it work the same way real paints do. Anyways I decided to re-paint an existing Frazetta layout as an homage and I put a little twist on it with the Native American thing.

Flying by Troy Hoover
The first idea that popped into my head when I saw the topic was "flying" was Charles Lindbergh. I started searching for reference and before long ENEMY ACE popped into my head so I went with that since it's about 100 times cooler. It's about 8 minutes to midnight so I'm uploading the inks now to meet the deadline. I have tomorrow off so I will probably color this then and update this post.

Muppets by Troy Hoover
Pepe is a King Prawn and he's from Spain. So I decided to draw him in the style of those old paintings around the 1700s of the Spanish/French/English Kings and Queens. Thought it would contrast good with the cartoony nature of The Muppets. I chose a basic layout as I wanted to spend time playing with different brushes and painting techniques. I originally just had rough pencils as this was going to be a digital painting, but it wasn't holding up on its own so I ended up inking it digitally and then taking a somewhat painterly approach with the colors. The frame is just a picture I found on the internet. I thought about drawing it at first but I thought it would look more like a physical painting, something you could grab onto, if the frame were an actual picture.

100 Bullets by Troy Hoover
I've never read any of "100 Bullets" although it is on my list of things I need to read. Since I don't know anything about it I just looked up some character names and Remi Rome sounded cool. I didn't read too much about the character so I could avoid spoilers so the layout for my sketch is a little generic for that reason.
