Kenny F***ing Powers

When I was young I looked up to many sports players. If I were a kid today, I would DEFINITELY be a huge fan of Kenny Powers from TV's "Eastbound and Down".

Child Heroes

I was expecting a lot more people to do pics of like their parents or firefighters and stuff like that. I was trying so hard to think about who i looked up to when I was kid besides my parents and all I could think of was running around the house in pajamas with plastic weapons and sticks or magic marker sideburns on my face. My mom actually made me a bitching batman cape after i sliced up the bottom of one of her 'good' bathroom towels when i tried to make it look like the Dark Knights cape. I also use to run around with a pillow safety pinned to the back of my shirt and tighty-whiteys on my head when i was pretending to be the Rocketeer. Well, that's that i guess.

Wolverine

X-Men the animated series was da bomb when I was but a child.
I was going to do an awesome background but I messed up.  So... you get a bunch of black!

BlizzardMirage

Ninjas are the first thing that come to mind when I think of anything awesome. And it was the same thing in preschool, Storm Shadow was my boy! God I love the 80's. I sort of winged it with the colors, started out with a totally different color scheme, then I went nuts.

Watterson

I wouldn't say Bill Watterson was a "hero" to me per-say, but I loved Calvin and Hobbes, and he was a massive influence in bringing me to where I am in my life. Interesting note: I knew he was a recluse, but there are only 2 images of Watterson available online and they are both from the 80's.

Superman

I was originally going to draw the Green Power Ranger but I just could not figure out a cool way to draw him.  That helmet looks silly from every freakin' angle and as Tuesday grew closer I decided to just do a Superman drawing instead.  He was always my favorite as a kid anyway.

Dredd

John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra would I guess be my childhood heroes. They created Dredd, which was the first ever comic I read and character I wanted to draw. One of my favorite characters.
Kindof drew it in a different style than normal. Carlos has a really 'liney' style, so i added a bit of that to it.
As always, fun to draw.

Bat-Mite

A bit of a triple whammy for me. Like all of us, I was obsessed with the Burton Batman film and one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life was my brother explaining Batman wasn't real. Second, the first girl to let me stick things in her head bought me The Dark Knight Returns (Tenth Anniversary Edition) for my 13th birthday and it is still one of my all-time favorite books. Lastly, for some reason my idiot five year old is madly in love with Bat-Mite, so, he's kind of her childhood hero right now.
END.
