The Fourth World


Jack Kirby is King.  I think I prefer his DC work over his Marvel work.  Almost as soon as Craig picked the topic, I was on my way to the library to pick up "Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus" volumes 1-4.  It's great stuff that every Kirby fan should check out.  Anyway, I tried to do a classic-type cover with a little Kirby influence.  This piece is also more involved than my original idea.  I was going to have Darkseid vs Orion, but Kirby stole my layout. lol

I kind of shot myself in the foot, time-wise, with this one.

    That Darkseid face is terrific! Maybe my favorite Darkseid face ever. This reminds me of the Mignola Cosmic Odyssey stuff. OH! And I also prefer Kirby's DC work over the rest.
