Liam Neeson by Ben Dale

Liam Neeson just has a great face, so I decide to just work up a study. Fun exercise, and I like how it turned out.

Stephen King by Ben Dale

The Mist is a good movie and Toby Jones is awesome. No time to do a layout so I just drew a photo I liked.

X-Men by Ben Dale

X-Statics was one of my favorite X-titles ever! Possibly one of my favorite runs of all time.

Old School Video Game by Ben Dale

Bald Bull. Sorry for being a one trick pony lately, but I had to do this quick, but I'm still happy with it.

Breaking Bad by Ben Dale

It was hard to pick a favorite character to draw because there's so many awesome ones. I just really wanted to draw Mike and Gale. Almost put Saul in too but it took me a while to get the likenesses right.

Literature by Ben Dale

I drew Hiro Protagonist from Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. It's probably my favorite cyberpunk book.

Green By Ben Dale

Only a huge dick like me would draw a picture without a trace of the topic color. FUN FACT: Godzilla is called Gojira in japan which means Gorilla Fish! REGULAR FACT: I love gorillas!

Pixar by Ben Dale

I'll be honest, I just really wanted to draw her hair. It was all I thought it could be. Plus I'll use any reason to re-watch this awesome trailer.

Avengers by Ben Dale

So glad to be back with the rest of the Omega Sketchers. I had to let this sketch go, I could have really painted it up all the way, but I don't have time. But I am happy with my Agent Coulson.  Hooray for nerding out.

Legion by Ben Dale

I really thought that Lobo had something to do with Legion. I found this website that had all these covers for L.E.G.I.O.N. that had him on it, so I thought it would work. I swear I wasn't trying the old "Picard-in-a-Batman-Costume" routine.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Ben Dale

Leonardo leads. He's a nerd and a goody two shoes, but he's also bad ass.

Assassins by Ben Dale

Confession time: I've always preferred US "The Professional" version because I don't like the weird romantic aspect of the "Leon: The Professional" international edit. Just saying. Also I wish I could have fit in Gary Oldman. "EVERYONE!"

Sean Connery by Ben Dale

How do you pick only one Connery to draw? I couldn't. You're the man now dog!

Frank Frazetta by Ben Dale (after Frank Frazetta)

I recreated one of my favorite Frazetta paintings for this sketch. I didn't spend time making sure it was exactly like the original in every way, but spending a few hours with a masters painting can teach you so much about someone else's drawing theory, color palette, and technique. You can see the original painting here.

Flying by Ben Dale

I am a really big fan of this weeks topic. I was excited at such a broad topic that allows lots of different ideas from one word. Inspired by a few of my favorite artists I wanted to draw a plane. It took me a half dozen sketches before I felt like I was even drawing planes decently but I liked the challenge and I feel like I learned something!

Inside joke. Still funny. Happy New Year!

Star Trek by Ben Dale

Just a quick sketch. I had an elaborate and funny idea that maybe I will do down the road, but time constraints have made this is all I can do this week. Data is my favorite character of all Trek. If you know what I like out of characters he fits it pretty well. He's pretty bad ass, but he's also adorable and hilarious in a Chaplin-esque way.
