Chief Man-of-Bats
Cowboys and Indians
Wow-ahkan
Native American
I was dreading doing this week's topic, until I started working on it. I admit this isn't anything special or any person in particular, just a guy standing there, but damn was it fun to draw and ink. I was at a loss for what to do, so I just did some quick reference, found some interesting images, and this ended up coming out on my end. I didn't bother erasing the pencils or adjusting the levels too much because it gave it a raw feeling, and felt that was appropriate for the subject matter. Before this drawing I didn't really have any interest on doing something native american, but now I can't wait to do another!

Turn of the century renegade
One of the reasons I am so interested in the American west during the mid 1800's through the turn of the century is the mixing of all the different cultures. I like the use in movies and books of Native Americans wearing American army clothing or weapons. Did they trade for them? Or are they trophies of battle? So I just came up with this dude whose been through some stuff and got some trophies of his own. Went a little more cartoony/exaggeration for fun on this one and inked it all in brush to get a little more use out of it. I'm mostly a nib guy.

These Two
Emma Frost
Meryl Silverburgh
I decided to stay with in the Metal Gear Solid realm for this week and drew Meryl Silverburgh from Metal Gear Solid 1. Had a little bit more time with this one so I put some simple colors on there. Don't have my tablet with me so I had to use the mouse for the first time in forever. I felt like a caveman, haha.

Locutus of Borg
Borg have the best tech, because you can't draw it wrong. it's a mess of wires and circuits. This was probably the most relaxing thing i've ever drawn. Inking with a brush on a big headshot is my favorite thing.

Stark and his Toys
Robin, the Toy Wonder
Figured I'd keep going with the Grant Morrison characters... so here's Robin from the DC 1,000,000 series. Also thought it'd be cool to do a homage of the current Batman and Robin series by posing him the same as Damian from the first issue cover of the series. Doing the full image of that as a collaboration with a friend, so you'll probably see that elsewhere.
Liquid in MG Rex
My tech entry is from the game Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear is the bi-pedal mech that Liquid Snake steals from the government. Yeah, I'm not too happy with this one. I can't wait until pool season/wedding season is done so I can start putting more time into these.
Tom Skylark and Rover
This week I felt like drawing a Sentinel, so I drew Tom Skylark and his pet Sentinel, Rover. They are from the terrible ending to Morrison's otherwise excellent run on New X-Men. If you haven't read it, check it out, it's the last great superhero book I've read, and I think it's better than Whedon and Cassaday's Astonishing. Anyway, hope you all dig!

Kamakura Shogunate
The Kamakura period marked the transition to the Japanese medieval era - 700 year period in which the emperor, the court, and the traditional central government were left intact but largely relegated to ceremonial functions. Civil, military, and judicial matters were controlled by the samurai class, the most powerful of whom was the shÅgun.
I f*ckin love samurais.
Conan!
Conan is medieval right? I mean barbarians were around in medieval times, Conan is a barbarian. Okay it's settled. This was a quickie this week, been wanting to fool around with a ball point pen in the inking stage and I went a little overboard here, but it was a good introduction. I think this was the first time I've ever drawn Conan... hope everyone digs!
Medieval Spawn
Mordred
The first thing that popped into my head for "Medieval Ages" was the movie "Excalibur". I can't get enough of the movie, the soundtrack, the visuals, it's all great. I always thought that Mordred's armor was pretty sweet, and the head piece was creepy as hell so I went with that. I tried out inking the whole thing with Sharpies, never really done that before besides quick sketchbook things. It was kind of fun.
Etrigan
I was having a real hard time thinking of something to draw, because I've never cared much for Knights and stuff until I remembered Etrigan! Great story right?
