Sailor Steve Costigan and Mike

Steve Costigan is my absolute favorite Robert E. Howard character and it's a bummer that he doesn't get the same attention as the others. The stories are funny, odd, brutal (sometimes) and totally lovable.
Oh, and I followed the original description as opposed to the blonde, striped shirt guy he's now depicted as.

  1. Im a big fan of Robert E. Howard but am not at all familiar with his non-fantasy works. Sounds like a really fun read! Howard may very well be the king of pulp-fiction writing... is the dog his side kick or something? great piece bro, he really pops off the page, er screen.

  4. Well... if I had found this site back when I was putting together the Steve Costigan ebook anthologies for NUELOW Games ("Fists of Foolishness" and "Shanghaied Mitts"), I would have seen if that picture was available in place of one of the covers we DID use. Great stuff.

  5. Hi, guys really great drawing. I'm publishing an article on Rogue Blades Entertainment exactly about the Steve Costigan's stories. It's a good way to get to know the character a little bit. I agree with you Andy, he should get more recognition. I was wondering if I could use your drawing for the cover of the article; really loved it.

  6. You guys should check out El Borak, too. It's another more realistic character from Robert and the stories are great.
